2017 Annual Business Review

The healthy state of a cooperative is an absolute assurance, as well as a source of pride to its staff and general membership. It is a tangible evidence that their hard-earned money has been invested rightfully and in a worthwhile manner. Likewise, the members have high level of trust and confidence that they have a “stable” and reliable partner whom they can run to in times of need. It is along these perspectives that the organization has taken the step to hold a comprehensive analysis of the state of the business at present, as against its set goals and objectives.  Such is ideally done in the form of an organized formal event, the Annual Business Review.

For this year 2017, the Annual Business Review was held last June 11, 2017 at Forest Park Dahilayan in Bukidnon.  The venue with a “touch of nature” in its surrounding, was a conducive place for a formal discussion, exchanging of ideas, suggestions and recommendations, capturing opportunities of learning and agreements, as well as, for fun and excitement. The event was hosted by two of EDUCOM members, Efren “Odok” Alaga and Kris Jane de Rama.

A well-balanced annual meeting consists of three basic ingredients: business, information and entertainment.  The business phase and information or education phase were incorporated in the presentations of the following groups:

  • LGBT: Learning, Growth, Better Team, headed by Domingo H. Ramos and Dante C. Yasay
  • Internal Process/ QMS, headed by Dewey P. Booc and Glenn M. Murillo
  • Members and Other Stakeholders, headed by Lourdes A. Ermino and Rene S. Antazo
  • Financial Group, headed by Joseph D. Tadla

However, to add a little “life” or excitement prior to the presentation, each team has exerted efforts in offering their respective “chant or mantra”, which was part of the entertainment contest.  Our very own President and BOD Chair, Rolando “Jards” R. Jardiolin, together with our consultant, Mr. Eddie P. de Guzman and EDUCOM member, Edna S. Buscato, served as the panel of judges and critique.

The business and information phase lasted for the entire morning of that designated day, where Q&A proved to be a very animated/lively exchange of ideas, along with worthwhile sharing of suggestions and recommendations for each of the team. Each of the team was commended for their painstaking efforts in preparing for their presentations.

Fueled by a hearty meal at lunch time and great motivation for competition, everyone displayed high level of energy for the “fun and excitement” part.  Several games were played, which tested each team’s commitment for “teamplay”, critical thinking and making winning strategies.  With full enthusiasm and energy at the highest level, every game was played successfully, with different winners for each one.

The event was then rapped with expression of gratitude and announcement of winners for each of the contest, as follows:

Winners of each contest:

  • Best Presentor: Financial Group
  • Best Reporter: Christine Mae D. Valdehueza
  • Best Chant: Internal Process
  • Best Group: Over-all Champion – Financial

Kudos to each one for a “job well done”, for the lively responses and participations and significant contributions towards the success of this year’s ABR.  Here’s to another year of impressive performance by the team!!!
